Flowers of Independence
Hope you like ‘em. The ideas. The perspectives. The ego thoughts. o_0
“Touch my heart. Sparkle before my eyes. Brighten up the night sky.
Explode in glory. Surrender my pride. Burst at the seams with beauty and intrigue.
Lights of orange, grey and white. Daffodils, morning glories and daisies delight.
Surprise me with wonder. Bring me into what these displays really mean. What our country really was before the plight. Before our fight for independence.
These flowers represent the struggle. They represent the blood. They represent the lives fought for us to stand here now in peace.
Touch the edges of our minds. Brighten our memories of the past. Make us surrender our quarrels; for we used to fight a bigger enemy than ourselves.
Cascade down oh Lights of Freedom. Cover the sky for all the country to see them. Our Flowers of Independence.” —- Serina Loraine
